OUR LOGO.

ABOUT THE DESIGN

The strawberry is an important medicinal plant for many Indigenous Nations across Turtle Island. Ode’imin, which translates to heart berry in Anishinaabemowin, is named after the shape of the berry. The strawberry is a part of many ceremonies and carries many teachings in Anishinaabe and Haundeosaunee Nations (but are not limited to those Nations only). The blossom of the strawberry is shown to represent new growth, community, and love.

Our logo also features a wild rose placed behind the blossom of the strawberry. Wild roses symbolize resilience and beauty. The rose supports and uplifts the strawberry blossom, symbolizing how Indigenous Workways uses strong foundations to lift up and support Indigenous alumni and students.
